凡不結好果子的樹，都要被砍下來丟在火裡。

一塊經常受到雨水滋潤的田地若為耕種的人長出莊稼來，就蒙上帝賜福；若長出來的盡是荊棘和蒺藜，就毫無價值，它會面臨被咒詛的危險，最後必遭焚燒。

屬於我的枝子如果不結果子，祂就把它剪掉；如果結果子，祂便修剪它，讓它結更多的果子。

但它被憤怒地連根拔起，拋在地上。東風吹乾了它的果實，粗壯的枝幹折斷枯乾，被火焚燒。現在，它被栽種在乾旱的曠野。但火從枝幹蔓延，燒毀了它的果實，沒有留下一根粗壯的枝幹可作王的杖。』「這是一首哀歌，也必用作哀歌。」

人子也將派天使把一切引人犯罪和作孽的人從祂國裡挑出來，

如果他們藉著認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督，已經擺脫了世俗的污穢，但後來又被這些事纏住、俘虜了，他們的處境會比以前更糟糕。

現在斧頭已經放在樹根上了，不結好果子的樹都要被砍下，丟在火裡。

葡萄木有什麼用呢？能用它製造掛鉤掛東西嗎？它只能用來當柴燒。如果火已經燒了它的兩頭，中間也燒黑了，它還有什麼用呢？它完好無損的時候，尚且不能用來製造工具，被火燒後豈不更沒用了嗎？所以，主耶和華說，我怎樣把林中的葡萄樹丟在火中當柴燒，也必照樣丟棄耶路撒冷的居民。我必嚴懲他們。他們縱然火裡逃生，仍要被火燒滅。我嚴懲他們的時候，他們便知道我是耶和華。

名字沒有記在生命冊上的都要被扔進火湖裡。

這些人是從我們中間出去的，但他們不屬於我們。他們如果屬於我們，就會留在我們當中了。他們的離去表明他們都不屬於我們。

「你要告訴他們，主耶和華這樣說，『這樹能長得枝繁葉茂嗎？難道那鷹不把它連根拔起，摘掉它的果子，使樹和嫩葉全部枯萎嗎？不必費多大力氣，也不需要多少人就可以把它連根拔起。

這些人在你們的愛宴中是敗類。他們肆無忌憚地吃喝，是只顧餵養自己的牧人；是沒有雨的雲，隨風飄蕩；是深秋不結果子的樹，被連根拔起，徹底枯死。他們是海中的狂濤，翻動著自己可恥的泡沫，是流蕩的星星，有幽幽黑暗永遠留給他們。

只有可怕的審判和燒滅敵對者的烈火等候我們。

這棵你親手栽種和培育的葡萄樹。

只有你像一根毫無用處的樹枝，被拋棄在自己的墳墓外。你就像一具遭人踐踏的屍體，與喪身刀下的人一同被扔進亂石坑裡。

猶大把錢扔在聖殿裡，出去上吊自盡了。

堅城荒涼，被人遺棄，如同曠野。牛犢在那裡吃草、躺臥，吃光樹枝上的葉子。

他無法逃脫黑暗，火焰要燒焦他的嫩枝，上帝口中的氣要毀滅他。

至於那些膽怯的、不信的、行為可憎的、殺人的、淫亂的、行邪術的、拜偶像的和所有說謊的，他們的結局是被丟進硫磺火湖裡，這就是第二次的死。」
