“ A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.

yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are not willing to listen to Me. The entire house of Israel certainly is stubborn and obstinate.

who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out. They are not pleasing to God, but hostile to all people,

persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed;

and we labor, working with our own hands; when we are verbally abused, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we would look at Him, Nor an appearance that we would take pleasure in Him.He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.

The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.

For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,to do whatever Your hand and purpose predestined to occur.And now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant it to Your bond servants to speak Your word with all confidence,while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on a Sabbath.

Truly, truly I say to you, if anyone follows My word, he will never see death.”

Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he was to report it, so that they might arrest Him.

Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and left the temple grounds.

And Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary,“ Behold, this Child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and as a sign to be opposed—

The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest Him.

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Listen to the voice of the people regarding all that they say to you, because they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being King over them.

A student is not above the teacher; but everyone, when he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.
