A disciple is not above his teacher, or a slave above his master.

But the house of Israel will not want to listen to you because they do not want to listen to me. For the whole house of Israel is hardheaded and hardhearted.

who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. They displease God and are hostile to everyone,

we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.

we labor, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?He grew up before him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at him, no appearance that we should desire him.He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. Again the Jews picked up rocks to stone him.

Therefore, the Jews began persecuting Jesus because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.

Truly I tell you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”

The chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should report it so that they could arrest him.

So they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple.

Then Simeon blessed them and told his mother Mary,“ Indeed, this child is destined to cause the fall and rise of many in Israel and to be a sign that will be opposed—

The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about him, and so the chief priests and the Pharisees sent servants to arrest him.

But the LORD told him,“ Listen to the people and everything they say to you. They have not rejected you; they have rejected me as their king.

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.
