Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.He has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. He has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.He said to me,“ You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”

In days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will blossom and bud. They will fill the surface of the world with fruit.

If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.“ In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.

For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth, and makes it grow and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;so is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do.For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace. The mountains and the hills will break out before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields will clap their hands.Instead of the thorn the cypress tree will come up; and instead of the brier the myrtle tree will come up. It will make a name for Yahweh, for an everlasting sign that will not be cut off.”

We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of Yahweh, his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.For he established a covenant in Jacob, and appointed a teaching in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;that the generation to come might know, even the children who should be born; who should arise and tell their children,

Or hasn’t the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

You know that I have affection for you.” Jesus said to him,“ Feed my sheep.

One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts.

Jesus therefore said to them again,“ Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them,“ Receive the Holy Spirit!If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.

But the Lord said to him,“ Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.

For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about; for necessity is laid on me; but woe is to me if I don’t preach the Good News.For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.What then is my reward? That when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.

Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you,

For this I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things.Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

The remnant of Jacob will be among many peoples, like dew from Yahweh, like showers on the grass, that don’t wait for man, nor wait for the sons of men.

not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed in him?
