and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.

“ Before I formed you in your mother’s womb I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”I answered,“ Oh, Lord GOD, I really do not know how to speak well enough for that, for I am too young.”The LORD said to me,“ Do not say,‘ I am too young.’ But go to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you.

But set Christ apart as Lord in your hearts and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you possess.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:

Jesus replied,“ Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is the devil?”

Even when I am old and gray, O God, do not abandon me, until I tell the next generation about your strength, and those coming after me about your power.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Then Jesus came up and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Then they prayed,“ Lord, you know the hearts of all. Show us which one of these two you have chosen

Like obedient children, do not comply with the evil urges you used to follow in your ignorance,but, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct,for it is written,“ You shall be holy, because I am holy.”And if you address as Father the one who impartially judges according to each one’s work, live out the time of your temporary residence here in reverence.You know that from your empty way of life inherited from your ancestors you were ransomed– not by perishable things like silver or gold,but by precious blood like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb, namely Christ.He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was manifested in these last times for your sake.Through him you now trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Listen to me, you coastlands! Pay attention, you people who live far away! The LORD summoned me from birth; he commissioned me when my mother brought me into the world.He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the hollow of his hand; he made me like a sharpened arrow, he hid me in his quiver.He said to me,“ You are my servant, Israel, through whom I will reveal my splendor.”

He said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.

The time is coming when Jacob will take root; Israel will blossom and grow branches. The produce will fill the surface of the world.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you.My Father is honored by this, that you bear much fruit and show that you are my disciples.

The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat.In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.”Indeed you will go out with joy; you will be led along in peace; the mountains and hills will give a joyful shout before you, and all the trees in the field will clap their hands.Evergreens will grow in place of thorn bushes, firs will grow in place of nettles; they will be a monument to the LORD, a permanent reminder that will remain.

we will not hide from their descendants. We will tell the next generation about the LORD’s praiseworthy acts, about his strength and the amazing things he has done.He established a rule in Jacob; he set up a law in Israel. He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants,so that the next generation, children yet to be born, might know about them. They will grow up and tell their descendants about them.

Has the potter no right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special use and another for ordinary use?

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.”

Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these do?” He replied,“ Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus told him,“ Feed my lambs.”Jesus said a second time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He replied,“ Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” Jesus told him,“ Shepherd my sheep.”Jesus said a third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time,“ Do you love me?” and said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied,“ Feed my sheep.

One generation will praise your deeds to another, and tell about your mighty acts!

So Jesus said to them again,“ Peace be with you. Just as the Father has sent me, I also send you.”And after he said this, he breathed on them and said,“ Receive the Holy Spirit.If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone’s sins, they are retained.”

The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise.

But the Lord said to him,“ Go, because this man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before Gentiles and kings and the people of Israel.

For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason for boasting, because I am compelled to do this. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward. But if I do it unwillingly, I am entrusted with a responsibility.What then is my reward? That when I preach the gospel I may offer the gospel free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

These things happened to them as examples and were written for our instruction, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

The reason I left you in Crete was to set in order the remaining matters and to appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.

For this gospel I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher.

and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things.And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

when they see your pure and reverent conduct.

that has come to you. Just as in the entire world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, so it has also been bearing fruit and growing among you from the first day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.

Those survivors from Jacob will live in the midst of many nations. They will be like the dew the LORD sends, like the rain on the grass, that does not hope for men to come or wait around for humans to arrive.

even before they were born or had done anything good or bad( so that God’s purpose in election would stand, not by works but by his calling)–

For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle– I am telling the truth; I am not lying– and a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

“ And now I know that none of you among whom I went around proclaiming the kingdom will see me again.Therefore I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of you all.For I did not hold back from announcing to you the whole purpose of God.Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.

And the fruit that consists of righteousness is planted in peace among those who make peace.

But I have written more boldly to you on some points so as to remind you, because of the grace given to me by Godto be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. I serve the gospel of God like a priest, so that the Gentiles may become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.So I boast in Christ Jesus about the things that pertain to God.For I will not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in order to bring about the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem even as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

By faith Abel offered God a greater sacrifice than Cain, and through his faith he was commended as righteous, because God commended him for his offerings. And through his faith he still speaks, though he is dead.

Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.

I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I often intended to come to you( and was prevented until now), so that I may have some fruit even among you, just as I already have among the rest of the Gentiles.

I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused it to grow.So neither the one who plants counts for anything, nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth.

if indeed you remain in the faith, established and firm, without shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has also been preached in all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become its servant.

“ Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the former prophets called out, saying,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Turn now from your evil wickedness,”’ but they would by no means obey me,” says the LORD.“ As for your ancestors, where are they? And did the prophets live forever?But have my words and statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, not outlived your fathers? Then they paid attention and confessed,‘ The LORD who rules over all has indeed done what he said he would do to us, because of our sinful ways.’”

not by all the people, but by us, the witnesses God had already chosen, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.”

After all, Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all the nations on the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using his name.
