Then they began asking him,“ Who is your father?” Jesus answered,“ You do not know either me or my Father. If you knew me you would know my Father too.”

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him– all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers– all things were created through him and for him.He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.

All things have been given to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him.”

because I have given them the words you have given me. They accepted them and really understand that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

“ I have revealed your name to the men you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your word.

that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.

I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”

They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

Jesus replied,“ Have I been with you for so long, and you have not known me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say,‘ Show us the Father’?Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father residing in me performs his miraculous deeds.

Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever–the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.“ I will not abandon you as orphans, I will come to you.In a little while the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.You will know at that time that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you.

My goal is that their hearts, having been knit together in love, may be encouraged, and that they may have all the riches that assurance brings in their understanding of the knowledge of the mystery of God, namely, Christ,in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

For God, who said“ Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.

( Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God– he has seen the Father.)

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come.He will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.In a little while you will see me no longer; again after a little while, you will see me.”

No one has ever seen God. The only one, himself God, who is in closest fellowship with the Father, has made God known.

Now this is eternal life– that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent.

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

I in them and you in me– that they may be completely one, so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.

If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.

All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him.
