耶穌說：「我的食物就是遵行差我來者的旨意，完成祂的工作。

基督在世為人的時候，曾經聲淚俱下地祈求能救祂脫離死亡的上帝。祂因為敬虔而蒙了應允。基督雖然是上帝的兒子，仍然從所受的苦難中學習了順服。

「我現在心裡憂傷，說什麼才好呢？求父救我離開這個時刻嗎？然而，我原是為這個時刻來的。

父怎樣愛我，我也怎樣愛你們。你們要常在我的愛中。

所以，基督來到世上的時候曾說：「上帝啊，祭物和供物非你所悅，你為我預備了身體。你並非喜愛燔祭和贖罪祭。於是我說，『上帝啊，我來是要遵行你的旨意，我的事都記在聖經上了。』」基督首先說：「祭物、供物、燔祭和贖罪祭都不是你想要的，也不是你喜悅的。」這些都是依照律法獻上的。然後祂又說：「我來是要遵行你的旨意。」這樣，祂廢除了前者，為要設立後者。

我的上帝啊，我樂意遵行你的旨意，我銘記你的律法。」

耶穌對彼得說：「收刀入鞘吧！我父賜給我的杯，我怎能不喝呢？」

定睛仰望為我們的信心創始成終的耶穌。祂為了擺在前面的喜樂，就輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架的痛苦，如今已坐在上帝寶座的右邊。你們要思想忍受罪人如此頂撞的主，免得疲倦灰心。

耶穌禱告完畢，就帶著門徒渡過汲淪溪，進了那裡的一個園子。因為耶穌時常帶著門徒到那裡聚會，所以出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方。這時，猶大帶著一隊士兵以及祭司長和法利賽人的差役，拿著燈籠、火把和兵器來了。耶穌早就知道將要發生在自己身上的一切事，於是出來問他們：「你們找誰？」

起來，我們走吧。看，出賣我的人已經來了！」
