Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.

Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.For who knows a person’s thoughts except his spirit within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people.

So when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the statement Jesus had made.

Therefore, since he has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he has poured out what you both see and hear.

Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,

Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“ Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit was making it clear that the way into the most holy place had not yet been disclosed while the first tabernacle was still standing.

But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you hear his voice,

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.

At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to his will.

because our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with full assurance. You know how we lived among you for your benefit,and you yourselves became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message with joy from the Holy Spirit.

Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption.

by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love,

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.

This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say, but say whatever is given to you at that time, for it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

Then his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:

“ Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”— the LORD’s declaration.“ I will put my teaching within them and write it on their hearts. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord and will never drink wine or beer. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit while still in his mother’s womb.

And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he also did to us.

The angel replied to her,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

until the day he was taken up, after he had given instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking forward to Israel’s consolation, and the Holy Spirit was on him.

Do not banish me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. For after he says:

“ Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will never be harmed by the second death.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Who is this person who fears the LORD? He will show him the way he should choose.He will live a good life, and his descendants will inherit the land.The secret counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he reveals his covenant to them.

He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.

The birth of Jesus Christ came about this way: After his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, it was discovered before they came together that she was pregnant from the Holy Spirit.
