For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

“ If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Then Jesus answered and said to them,“ Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

“ Then He will also say to those on the left hand,‘ Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’“ Then they also will answer Him, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’Then He will answer them, saying,‘ Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

Then Jesus cried out and said,“ He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him— the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying,“ You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.

I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others.For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Jesus said to him,“ If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
