『以色列人哪，你們要聽這些話：拿撒勒人耶穌、一個蒙上帝用異能奇事神迹向你們所證許的人；（這一切事、照你們自己所知道的、是上帝藉着他在你們中間施行過的）；

又是上帝、用神迹奇事和各種異能、以及隨他主意而分給人的聖靈之恩賜、所一同證實的。

耶穌回答他們說：『你們去把所聽見所看見的報告約翰：就是瞎子能看見，瘸子能走路，患痳瘋屬之病的得潔淨，聾子能聽見，死人得甦活起來，窮人有好消息傳給他們；

耶穌應時對他們說：『我把許多由父而來的善事顯給你們看；你們為其中的哪一件要用石頭打我呢？』

這是要應驗神言人以賽亞的話說：『主啊，我們所傳給人聽的、有誰信呢？主的膀臂向誰現露過呢？』人們之所以不能信的、是因為以賽亞又說：『主把他們的眼弄瞎了。使他們的心頑梗不化，省得他們用眼看見，用心了悟，回轉過來，而我醫治他們！』（

正當那時辰，耶穌剛治好了許多人的疾病、災病和邪靈，又恩賜許多瞎子得以看見。於是耶穌回答他們說：『你們去把所看見所聽見的報告約翰：就是瞎子能看見，瘸子能走路，患痲瘋屬之病的得潔淨，聾子能聽見，死人得甦活起來，窮人有好消息傳給他們。凡不因我而絆跌的有福了。』
