求你徹底洗滌我的罪孽，潔淨我的罪；

婭比蓋就起來，臉伏於地下拜，說：「看哪，你的女僕願意作婢女，為我主的僕人洗腳。」

不過有一個士兵用長矛刺入耶穌的肋旁，立刻有血和水流了出來。

基督這麼做，是要藉著話語，用水的洗滌而潔淨教會，使她分別為聖，

藉著水和血而來的那一位，就是耶穌基督，不僅藉著水，也藉著水和血；並且聖靈是做見證的那一位，因為聖靈就是真理。

萬軍之耶和華宣告：「到那日，必有一個泉源為大衛家和耶路撒冷的居民而開，為要除淨罪惡和汙穢。

耶穌洗完了他們的腳以後，穿上外衣，又坐下來，對他們說：「你們明白我為你們做的事嗎？你們叫我『老師』，稱呼我『主』。你們說得對，因為我就是那一位。因此，如果我——你們的主、你們的老師，還洗你們的腳，那麼你們也應該彼此洗腳。

其實，我們從前也是無知、悖逆、被迷惑的，做各種欲望和享樂的奴僕，活在惡毒和嫉妒中，是可憎惡的，又彼此相恨。但是，當神我們救主的仁慈和他對人的愛顯明的時候，他拯救了我們；這不是本於我們所做的義行，而是照著他的憐憫，藉著重生的洗滌和聖靈的更新。

你們有些人過去是這樣，但是藉著主耶穌基督的名，藉著我們神的靈，你們已經被洗淨了，被分別為聖了，被稱為義了。

彼得說：「你絕不可洗我的腳，永遠不可！」耶穌說：「如果我不洗你，你就與我沒有份了。」

她站在耶穌後面，在他的腳邊哭泣，開始用淚水沾濕耶穌的腳，再用自己的頭髮擦乾，又親吻他的腳，用香液膏抹。

現在你還等什麼呢？起來，當受洗！求告他的名，當洗去你的罪孽！』

既然我們的心被血灑過，脫離了罪惡感，身體也被清水洗淨了，就讓我們懷著真誠的心，以確信不移的信仰近前來；

耶穌說：「洗過澡的人，除了腳以外，沒有需要洗的；他是完全乾淨的。你們是乾淨的，但不是每個人都乾淨。」

「洗滌自己，潔淨自己吧，從我眼前除掉你們的惡行！當停止作惡，

我對他說：「我主啊，你是知道的。」他就對我說：「這些人都是從大患難中出來的。他們用羔羊的血洗淨了自己的袍子，使它們潔白了。
