“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will give my life for you.”

彼得说：“主啊！为什么我现在不能跟你去呢？就是为你死，我也愿意！”

彼得说：“主啊，为什么我现在不能跟着你去？为了你，我舍命也愿意！”

彼得说：“主啊，为什么我现在就不能跟随你呢？为了你，我愿意舍弃自己的生命！”

彼得說：「主啊，我為甚麼現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命！」

彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」

彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」

彼得說：「主啊！為什麼我現在不能跟你去呢？就是為你死，我也願意！」

彼得說：“主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟著你去？為了你，我捨命也願意！”

彼得對耶穌說：『主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟着你啊？連我的性命、我都要替你放棄呢！』

彼得說：「主啊，為什麼我現在就不能跟隨你呢？為了你，我願意捨棄自己的生命！」

彼得曰、主、今何不能從爾乎、我欲為爾捐生、

彼得曰、主、胡為今不能從爾乎、我願為爾捐命、

彼得曰、主、胡為今不能從爾、我願為爾舍命、

伯鐸祿曰：『今亦曷為弗克相隨乎？雖為主致命、亦所甘心！』

Peter asked,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

“ But why can’t I come now, Lord?” he asked.“ I’m ready to die for you.”

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

Peter* said to Him,“ Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.”

Peter said to Him,“ Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.”

Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You!”

Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!”

Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

“ You will all turn away,” Jesus told the disciples.“ It is written,“‘ I will strike the shepherd down. Then the sheep will be scattered.’( Zechariah 13:7)But after I rise from the dead, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”Peter said,“ All the others may turn away. But I will not.”“ What I’m about to tell you is true,” Jesus answered.“ It will happen today, in fact tonight. Before the rooster crows twice, you yourself will say three times that you don’t know me.”But Peter would not give in. He said,“ I may have to die with you. But I will never say I don’t know you.” And all the others said the same thing.

Jesus told them,“ This very night you will all turn away because of me. It is written that the Lord said,“‘ I will strike the shepherd down. Then the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’( Zechariah 13:7)But after I rise from the dead, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”Peter replied,“ All the others may turn away because of you. But I never will.”“ What I’m about to tell you is true,” Jesus answered.“ It will happen tonight. But I will never say I don’t know you.” And all the other disciples said the same thing.

“ Simon, Simon! Satan has asked to sift all of you disciples like wheat.But I have prayed for you, Simon. I have prayed that your faith will not fail. When you have turned back, help your brothers to be strong.”But Simon replied,“ Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”Jesus answered,“ I tell you, Peter, you will say three times that you don’t know me. And you will do it before the rooster crows today.”

He asked,“ Why are you crying? Why are you breaking my heart? I’m ready to be put in prison. In fact, I’m ready to die in Jerusalem for the Lord Jesus.”

When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus spoke to Simon Peter. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?”“ Yes, Lord,” he answered.“ You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”

But my life means nothing to me. My only goal is to finish the race. I want to complete the work the Lord Jesus has given me. He wants me to tell others about the good news of God’s grace.
