So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

我是你们的主，你们的夫子，尚且洗你们的脚，你们也当彼此洗脚。

然予以師以主之身、猶且濯爾之足、則爾等亦宜互為濯足矣。

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.

In the same way, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

But it must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and whoever leads, like the one serving.For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the One who serves.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, equip yourselves also with the same resolve— because the one who suffered in the flesh has finished with sin—

For you were called to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

Though He was God’s Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered.After He was perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him,

Therefore, if food causes my brother to fall, I will never again eat meat, so that I won’t cause my brother to fall.

fulfill my joy by thinking the same way, having the same love, sharing the same feelings, focusing on one goal.Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus,who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage.Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form,He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.

But it must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,and whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave to all.For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life— a ransom for many.”

Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted.Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave;just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life— a ransom for many.”

Although I am a free man and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people.To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law— though I myself am not under the law— to win those under the law.To those who are without that law, like one without the law— not being without God’s law but within Christ’s law— to win those without the law.To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.

Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.Each one of us must please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.For even the Messiah did not please Himself. On the contrary, as it is written, The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.

keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.

Now I, Paul, make a personal appeal to you by the gentleness and graciousness of Christ— I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

Be in agreement with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.

Show family affection to one another with brotherly love. Outdo one another in showing honor.
