It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him,for they said,“ Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar from the people.”

You heard me say to you,‘ I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

“ You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.But they said,“ Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.”

Then he came to the disciples and said to them,“ Sleep and take your rest later on. See, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover.And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people.

Jesus answered,“ Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me,‘ Where are you going?’But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”

And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

Jesus said to them,“ My time has not yet come, but your time is always here.

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

And he said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course.Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’

When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.You are my friends if you do what I command you.

who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
