“ You know that the Passover takes place after two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the courtyard of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas,and they conspired to arrest Jesus in a treacherous way and kill him.“ Not during the festival,” they said,“ so there won’t be rioting among the people.”

Then he came to the disciples and said to them,“ Are you still sleeping and resting? See, the time is near. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

The Festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called Passover, was approaching.The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to put him to death, because they were afraid of the people.

“ Aren’t there twelve hours in a day?” Jesus answered.“ If anyone walks during the day, he doesn’t stumble, because he sees the light of this world.But if anyone walks during the night, he does stumble, because the light is not in him.”

Then they tried to seize him. Yet no one laid a hand on him because his hour had not yet come.

But now I am going away to him who sent me, and not one of you asks me,‘ Where are you going?’Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.

He spoke these words by the treasury, while teaching in the temple. But no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.

But Christ was faithful as a Son over his household. And we are that household if we hold on to our confidence and the hope in which we boast.

Every day while I was with you in the temple, you never laid a hand on me. But this is your hour— and the dominion of darkness.”

Now, Father, glorify me in your presence with that glory I had with you before the world existed.

For we have become participants in Christ if we hold firmly until the end the reality that we had at the start.

Jesus told them,“ My time has not yet arrived, but your time is always at hand.

Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be sober-minded and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

He said to them,“ Go tell that fox,‘ Look, I’m driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.’Yet it is necessary that I travel today, tomorrow, and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.

When the days were coming to a close for him to be taken up, he determined to journey to Jerusalem.

Now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy completed in them.I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you.

No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.You are my friends if you do what I command you.
