But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,since you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.“ You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother’s son.

But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said,“ Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As Yahweh lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him, and said,“ Is all well?”He said,“ All is well. My master has sent me, saying,‘ Behold, even now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.’”Naaman said,“ Be pleased to take two talents.” He urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants; and they carried them before him.When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them in the house. Then he let the men go, and they departed.But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him,“ Where did you come from, Gehazi?” He said,“ Your servant went nowhere.”He said to him,“ Didn’t my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your offspring forever.” He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.

For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in,

The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.

for they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired Yahweh’s house with it.Moreover they didn’t demand an accounting from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to give to those who did the work; for they dealt faithfully.

The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand, and doesn’t care for the sheep.

They only asked us to remember the poor— which very thing I was also zealous to do.

Then I set apart twelve of the chiefs of the priests, even Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers with them,and weighed to them the silver, the gold, and the vessels, even the offering for the house of our God, which the king, his counselors, his princes, and all Israel there present, had offered.I weighed into their hand six hundred fifty talents of silver, one hundred talents of silver vessels; one hundred talents of gold,twenty bowls of gold weighing one thousand darics; and two vessels of fine bright bronze, precious as gold.I said to them,“ You are holy to Yahweh, and the vessels are holy. The hand of our God was on us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy and the bandit by the way.We came to Jerusalem, and stayed there three days.On the fourth day the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, the Levite;everything by number and by weight; and all the weight was written at that time.

They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

Abstain from every form of evil.

The fool has said in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds. There is no one who does good.

Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
