Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.’”“ By all means, take two talents,” said Naaman. He gave them to two of his servants, and they carried them ahead of Gehazi.When Gehazi came to the hill, he took the things from the servants and put them away in the house. He sent the men away and they left.When he went in and stood before his master, Elisha asked him,“ Where have you been, Gehazi?”“ Your servant didn’t go anywhere,” Gehazi answered.But Elisha said to him,“ Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money or to accept clothes— or olive groves and vineyards, or flocks and herds, or male and female slaves?Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and his skin was leprous— it had become as white as snow.

Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in.

The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.

The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

Eleazar son of Phinehas was with him, and so were the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.Everything was accounted for by number and weight, and the entire weight was recorded at that time.

My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.

nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

reject every kind of evil.

The fool says in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

What is more, he was chosen by the churches to accompany us as we carry the offering, which we administer in order to honor the Lord himself and to show our eagerness to help.We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift.For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.

All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
