But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?For you yourself hate discipline, And you throw My words behind you.When you see a thief, you become friends with him, And you associate with adulterers.You let your mouth loose in evil, And your tongue harnesses deceit.You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, thought,“ Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Aramean, by not accepting from his hand what he brought. As the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.”So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw someone running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him and said,“ Is everything well?”And he said,“ Everything is well. My master has sent me, saying,‘ Behold, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothes.’ ”Naaman said,“ Be sure to take two talents.” And he urged him, and tied up two talents of silver in two bags with two changes of clothes, and gave them to two of his servants; and they carried them before him.When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand and deposited them in the house, and he sent the men away, and they departed.But he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him,“ Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said,“ Your servant went nowhere.”Then he said to him,“ Did my heart not go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to accept money and to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, oxen, and male and female slaves?Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence afflicted with leprosy, as white as snow.

For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and is dressed in bright clothes, and a poor man in dirty clothes also comes in,

The righteous is concerned for the rights of the poor; The wicked does not understand such concern.

for they gave that to those who did the work, and with it they repaired the house of the Lord.Moreover, they did not require an accounting from the men into whose hands they gave the money to pay to those who did the work, because they acted faithfully.

He flees because he is a hired hand and does not care about the sheep.

They only asked us to remember the poor— the very thing I also was eager to do.

Then I selected twelve of the leading priests: Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and with them ten of their brothers;and I weighed out to them the silver, the gold, and the utensils, the offering for the house of our God which the king, his counselors, his officials, and all Israel who were present there had contributed.So I weighed into their hands 650 talents of silver, and silver utensils worth a hundred talents, and a hundred gold talents,and twenty gold bowls worth a thousand darics, and two utensils of fine shiny bronze, precious as gold.Then I said to them,“ You are holy to the Lord, and the utensils are holy; and the silver and the gold are a voluntary offering to the Lord God of your fathers.Watch and keep them until you weigh them before the leading priests, the Levites, and the leaders of the fathers’ households of Israel in Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the Lord.”So the priests and the Levites accepted the weight of silver and gold and the utensils, to bring them to Jerusalem to the house of our God.Then we journeyed from the river Ahava on the twelfth of the first month to go to Jerusalem; and the hand of our God was upon us, and He rescued us from the hand of the enemy and the ambushes by the road.So we came to Jerusalem and remained there for three days.And on the fourth day the silver, the gold, and the utensils were weighed out in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest, and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them were the Levites, Jozabad the son of Jeshua and Noadiah the son of Binnui.A notation was made for everything by number and weight, and all the weight was recorded at that time.

And they come to you as people come, and sit before you as My people and hear your words, but they do not do them; for they do the lustful desires expressed by their mouth, and their heart follows their unlawful gain.

nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

abstain from every form of evil.

The fool has said in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed detestable acts; There is no one who does good.

and not only that, but he has also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work, which is being administered by us for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our readiness,taking precaution so that no one will discredit us in our administration of this generous gift;for we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of other people.

All those who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.
