How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?

And they do all their deeds to be noticed by other people; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.And they love the place of honor at banquets, and the seats of honor in the synagogues,and personal greetings in the marketplaces, and being called Rabbi by the people.

I do not receive glory from people;

And He said to them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts; because that which is highly esteemed among people is detestable in the sight of God.

nor did we seek honor from people, either from you or from others, though we could have asserted our authority as apostles of Christ.

“ So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

For it is not the one who commends himself that is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

Jesus answered,“ If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say,‘ He is our God’;

And he said to him,‘ Well done, good slave; since you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to have authority over ten cities.’

to those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life;

so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of human hearts; and then praise will come to each person from God.

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares,‘ I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father was to walk before Me forever’; but now the Lord declares,‘ Far be it from Me— for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant.

All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, All those who go down to the dust will kneel before Him, Even he who cannot keep his soul alive.

but it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
