How can you believe? While accepting glory from one another, you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God.

They do everything to be observed by others: They enlarge their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.They love the place of honor at banquets, the front seats in the synagogues,greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called‘ Rabbi’ by people.

“ I do not accept glory from men,

And He told them:“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God’s sight.

and we didn’t seek glory from people, either from you or from others.

So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. I assure you: They’ve got their reward!

For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one the Lord commends.

“ If I glorify Myself,” Jesus answered,“ My glory is nothing. My Father— you say about Him,‘ He is our God’— He is the One who glorifies Me.

“‘ Well done, good slave!’ he told him.‘ Because you have been faithful in a very small matter, have authority over 10 towns.’

eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;

so that the genuineness of your faith— more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

Therefore don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there My servant also will be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

“ Therefore, this is the declaration of the Lord, the God of Israel:‘ Although I said your family and your ancestral house would walk before Me forever, the Lord now says,“ No longer!” I will honor those who honor Me, but those who despise Me will be disgraced.

All who prosper on earth will eat and bow down; all those who go down to the dust will kneel before Him— even the one who cannot preserve his life.

Instead, it should consist of what is inside the heart with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very valuable in God’s eyes.
