Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

天主之神、有可徵焉、凡神認耶穌基督成人身誕降者、則由天主也、

猶太人就瑪利亞者、見耶穌所行之事、多信之、

蓋猶太人為拉撒路之故、多往而信耶穌、○

眾謂之曰、爾全身生於罪中、而反教我乎、遂逐之出、

有司及法利賽人、有信之者乎、但此眾不識律法、實可詛也、中有尼哥底母、即曾夜就耶穌者、謂法利賽人曰、未究詰人、不識其所為、我律法豈罪之乎、

人若為人子而憎爾、絕爾、詈爾、以爾名為惡而棄之、則爾福矣、

爾曹畏主命者、當聽主言、爾兄弟憾爾、緣我名而棄爾、曰、願主彰顯榮光、使我儕得見爾之欣喜、彼如此言、必至蒙羞、曰願主彰顯榮光使我儕得見爾之欣喜彼如此言必至蒙羞或作自言以此歸榮於我我必使爾欣喜使彼愧怍

使徒離公會前、皆喜、以其堪為耶穌名受辱也、

蓋人以心信則可稱義、以口認則可得救、

此後有亞利瑪太人約瑟、求彼拉多、欲取耶穌之身、彼拉多許之、約瑟遂往、取耶穌之身、約瑟亦耶穌之門徒、但恆自隱諱、因懼猶太人故也、

爾畏懼誰、因誰驚恐、竟行虛偽、不記憶我、不以我為意、我久已容忍、爾反不敬畏我、

可愛者乎、爾今遇火鍊試爾、勿異之以為遭非常之事、反當喜樂、因與基督共受苦也、使爾於其榮光顯現之時、亦可歡欣踴躍、爾為基督之名被詬、則為有福、因天主榮光之神、賦畀爾、賦畀爾原文作止於爾上基督為彼所謗讟、為爾所讚榮、有原文抄本無此二句爾中有人受苦、切勿因兇殺、偷竊、行惡、滋事而受苦、若緣為基督徒而受苦、則勿羞愧、當因此歸榮於天主、

凡認耶穌為天主之子者、則天主恆居彼內、彼亦恆居天主內、
