Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

At the same time that Jesus did those signs, many of the Jewish leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they would not openly admit they believed. They were afraid they would be thrown out of the synagogue.

“知道公义、将我训诲存在心中的民，要听我言！不要怕人的辱骂，也不要因人的毁谤惊惶。

他父母说这话，是怕犹太人；因为犹太人已经商议定了，若有认耶稣是基督的，要把他赶出会堂。

惧怕人的，陷入网罗；惟有倚靠耶和华的，必得安稳。

“凡在人面前认我的，我在我天上的父面前也必认他；

这人夜里来见耶稣，说：“拉比，我们知道你是由神那里来作师傅的；因为你所行的神迹，若没有神同在，无人能行。”

凡灵认耶稣基督是成了肉身来的，就是出于神的；从此你们可以认出神的灵来。

那些来看马利亚的犹太人见了耶稣所做的事，就多有信他的；

因有好些犹太人为拉撒路的缘故，回去信了耶稣。

他们回答说：“你全然生在罪孽中，还要教训我们吗？”于是把他赶出去了。

官长或是法利赛人岂有信他的呢？但这些不明白律法的百姓是被咒诅的！”内中有尼哥底母，就是从前去见耶稣的，对他们说：“不先听本人的口供，不知道他所做的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗？”

人为人子恨恶你们，拒绝你们，辱骂你们，弃掉你们的名，以为是恶，你们就有福了！

你们因耶和华言语战兢的人当听他的话：你们的弟兄，就是恨恶你们、因我名赶出你们的，曾说：“愿耶和华得荣耀，使我们得见你们的喜乐”，但蒙羞的究竟是他们！

他们离开公会，心里欢喜，因被算是配为这名受辱。

彼得在外面院子里坐着，有一个使女前来，说：“你素来也是同那加利利人耶稣一伙的。”彼得在众人面前却不承认，说：“我不知道你说的是什么！”既出去，到了门口，又有一个使女看见他，就对那里的人说：“这个人也是同拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得又不承认，并且起誓说：“我不认得那个人。”过了不多的时候，旁边站着的人前来，对彼得说：“你真是他们一党的，你的口音把你露出来了。”彼得就发咒起誓地说：“我不认得那个人。”立时，鸡就叫了。彼得想起耶稣所说的话：“鸡叫以先，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

“我又告诉你们，凡在人面前认我的，人子在神的使者面前也必认他；

人要把你们赶出会堂，并且时候将到，凡杀你们的就以为是侍奉神。

因为，人心里相信就可以称义，口里承认就可以得救。

这些事以后，有亚利马太人约瑟，是耶稣的门徒，只因怕犹太人，就暗暗地作门徒。他来求彼拉多，要把耶稣的身体领去。彼拉多允准，他就把耶稣的身体领去了。

你怕谁？因谁恐惧？竟说谎，不记念我，又不将这事放在心上。我不是许久闭口不言，你仍不怕我吗？

亲爱的弟兄啊，有火炼的试验临到你们，不要以为奇怪（似乎是遭遇非常的事），倒要欢喜；因为你们是与基督一同受苦，使你们在他荣耀显现的时候，也可以欢喜快乐。你们若为基督的名受辱骂，便是有福的；因为神荣耀的灵常住在你们身上。你们中间却不可有人因为杀人、偷窃、作恶、好管闲事而受苦。若为作基督徒受苦，却不要羞耻，倒要因这名归荣耀给神。

凡认耶稣为神儿子的，神就住在他里面，他也住在神里面。
