Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

At the same time that Jesus did those signs, many of the Jewish leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they would not openly admit they believed. They were afraid they would be thrown out of the synagogue.

Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue;

Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue.

認識公義，把我的訓誨存在心裡的人民哪！你們要聽我的話。你們不要怕人的辱罵，也不要因人的毀謗而驚惶。

但沒有人敢公開講論他，因為怕猶太人。

他的父母這樣說，是因為怕猶太人，原來猶太人已經定好了，不論誰承認耶穌是基督，就要把那人趕出會堂。

懼怕人的，必陷入網羅；倚靠耶和華的，必得安全。

“凡在人面前承認我的，我在我天父面前也要承認他；

他夜間來到耶穌那裡，對他說：“拉比，我們知道你是從神那裡來的教師，因為如果沒有神同在，你所行的這些神蹟，就沒有人能行。”

你們可以這樣認出神的靈：凡是承認耶穌基督是成了肉身來的，那靈就是出於神。

有許多到馬利亞那裡去的猶太人，看見了耶穌所作的事，就信了他。

因為有許多猶太人為了拉撒路的緣故，離開他們，信了耶穌。

他們說：“你的確是在罪中生的，還敢教訓我們嗎？”就把他趕出去。

官長或法利賽人中間有誰是信他的呢？至於這群不明白律法的人，他們是可咒詛的。”他們當中有一個人，就是以前來見耶穌的尼哥德慕，對他們說：“如果不先聽取他本人的口供，查明他所作的事，我們的律法怎能把他定罪呢？”

世人為人子的緣故憎恨你們、排斥你們、辱罵你們，棄絕你們的名好像棄絕惡物，你們就有福了。

因耶和華的話而戰兢的人哪！你們要聽他的話。他說：“你們的兄弟，就是那些憎恨你們、因我的名趕走你們的，曾說：‘願耶和華得榮耀；讓我們看見你們的喜樂。’他們卻要蒙羞。

使徒歡歡喜喜從公議會裡出來，因為他們算是配得為主的名受辱。

彼得坐在外面的院子裡，有一個婢女走過來對他說：“你也是和加利利人耶穌一夥的。”彼得卻當眾否認，說：“我不知道你說甚麼。”他出到門口，又有一個婢女看見他，就對那裡的人說：“這人是和拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。”彼得再次否認，並且發誓說：“我不認識那個人。”過了一會，站在那裡的人前來對他說：“你的確是他們中間的一個，因為一聽你的口音就認出來了。”彼得就發咒起誓說：“我不認識那一個人。”立刻雞就叫了。彼得想起耶穌所說的話：“雞叫以前，你會三次不認我”，他就出去痛哭。

“我告訴你們，凡在人面前承認我的，人子在神的使者面前也承認他；

人要把你們趕出會堂；並且時候要到，所有要殺害你們的人，以為這樣就是事奉神。

因為心裡相信就必稱義，用口承認就必得救。

這些事以後，有一個亞利馬太人約瑟來求彼拉多，要領耶穌的身體；他因為怕猶太人，就暗暗地作耶穌的門徒。彼拉多批准了，他便把耶穌的身體領去。

你怕誰？你因誰而懼怕，以致你對我說謊呢？你不記念我，也不把我放在心上，是不是因為我長久緘默，你就不懼怕我呢？

親愛的，有火煉的試驗臨到你們，不要以為奇怪，好像是遭遇非常的事，倒要歡喜，因為你們既然在基督的受苦上有分，就在他榮耀顯現的時候，可以歡喜快樂。你們要是為基督的名受辱罵，就有福了！因為神榮耀的靈，住在你們身上。你們中間不可有人因為殺人、或偷竊、或行惡、或好管閒事而受苦。如果因為作基督徒而受苦，不要以為羞恥，倒要藉著這名字榮耀神。

凡承認耶穌是神的兒子的，神就住在他裡面，他也住在神裡面。
