Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

At the same time that Jesus did those signs, many of the Jewish leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they would not openly admit they believed. They were afraid they would be thrown out of the synagogue.

认识公义、铭记我训诲的人啊，听我说。你们不要害怕人的辱骂，也不要畏惧他们的毁谤。

不过，没有人敢公开议论祂的事，因为害怕犹太人。

他父母因为害怕那些犹太人，所以才这样说，因为那些犹太人早就商量好了，谁承认耶稣是基督，就把他赶出会堂。

惧怕人的必自陷网罗，信靠耶和华的必安稳。

“凡公开承认我的，我在天父面前也必承认他；

一天晚上，他来见耶稣，说：“老师，我们知道你是上帝差来教导人的，因为如果没有上帝的同在，没有人能行你所行的神迹。”

任何灵若承认耶稣基督曾降世为人，就是从上帝来的，你们可以凭这一点认出上帝的灵。

许多来看玛丽亚的犹太人看见耶稣所行的事，就信了祂，

因为有许多犹太人因为拉撒路的缘故离开他们，去信了耶稣。

法利赛人斥责他：“你这生来就深陷罪中的家伙，居然敢教导我们！”于是把他赶了出去。

哪有官长和法利赛人信祂呢？这群不明白律法的民众该受咒诅！”曾经夜访耶稣、属于他们当中一员的尼哥德慕说：“难道不听被告申辩，不查明事实真相，我们的律法就定祂的罪吗？”

你们为人子的缘故而遭人憎恨、弃绝、侮辱、毁谤，就有福了！

对耶和华的话心存敬畏的人啊，要听祂的话：“你们的弟兄憎恨你们，因为我的缘故而弃绝你们，他们讥讽说，‘愿耶和华得荣耀，我们好看看你们的欢乐！’他们必受羞辱。

使徒离开公会后，为自己有资格为主的名受辱而欢喜。

当时，彼得还坐在外面的院子里，有一个婢女走过来对他说：“你也是跟那个加利利人耶稣一伙的。”彼得却当众否认：“我不知道你在说什么。”正当他走到门口要离开时，另一个婢女看见他，就对旁边的人说：“这个人是跟拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的！”彼得再次否认，并发誓说：“我不认识那个人。”过了一会儿，旁边站着的人过来对彼得说：“你肯定也是他们一伙的，听你的口音就知道了。”彼得又赌咒又发誓，说：“我不认识那个人！”就在这时候，鸡叫了。彼得想起耶稣说的话：“在鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”他就跑出去，失声痛哭。

“我告诉你们，凡在人面前承认我的，人子在上帝的天使面前也必承认他。

人们将把你们赶出会堂，时候将到，杀害你们的人还以为是在事奉上帝。

因为人心里相信，就可以被称为义人，口里承认，就可以得救。

事后，有一个名叫约瑟的亚利马太人请求彼拉多让他为耶稣收尸。他因为畏惧犹太人，只是暗中做耶稣的门徒。彼拉多批准了，他就把耶稣的遗体领去。

“你们惧怕谁，以致对我说谎，不把我放在心上，忘记我？你们不再敬畏我，是因为我长期沉默吗？

亲爱的弟兄姊妹，若有火一般的试炼临到你们，不要觉得奇怪，以为发生了什么不寻常的事，反倒要欢喜，因为你们是与基督一起受苦。这样，你们在祂的荣耀显现时可以和祂一同欢喜快乐。如果你们为基督的缘故受辱骂，就有福了！因为上帝荣耀的灵常住在你们身上。你们谁也不可因杀人、偷盗、作恶或管闲事而受苦。若是为了做基督徒而受苦，不要觉得羞耻，要因这身份归荣耀给上帝。

无论是谁，他若承认耶稣是上帝的儿子，上帝必住在他里面，他也住在上帝里面。
