But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected,

Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place, because Jesus often met there with His disciples.So Judas took a company of soldiers and some temple police from the chief priests and the Pharisees and came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.Then Jesus, knowing everything that was about to happen to Him, went out and said to them,“ Who is it you’re looking for?”“ Jesus the Nazarene,” they answered.“ I am He,” Jesus told them. Judas, who betrayed Him, was also standing with them.

Jesus replied to them,“ Didn’t I choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is the Devil!”He was referring to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, one of the Twelve, because he was going to betray Him.

Jesus replied,“ He’s the one I give the piece of bread to after I have dipped it.” When He had dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son.

Now by the time of supper, the Devil had already put it into the heart of Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, to betray Him.

David’s oldest brother Eliab listened as he spoke to the men, and became angry with him.“ Why did you come down here?” he asked.“ Who did you leave those few sheep with in the wilderness?
