於是他們拿起石頭要打他。耶穌卻躲起來，從殿裡出去了。

主人就誇獎這不義的管家作事機警；因為在應付自己的世事上，今世之子比光明之子更精明。

你們從前是黑暗的，現今在主裡卻是光明的，行事為人就應當像光明的兒女。

他們又要逮捕耶穌，他卻從他們的手中逃脫了。耶穌又往約旦河東去，到約翰從前施洗的地方，住在那裡。

凡是說自己在光明中，卻恨他的弟兄的，他到現在還在黑暗裡。凡是愛弟兄的，就是住在光明中，在光明中他就不會跌倒。凡是恨弟兄的，就是在黑暗裡，也在黑暗裡行事。他不知道往哪裡去，因為黑暗弄瞎了他的眼睛。

於是離開他們，出了城，來到伯大尼，在那裡過了一夜。
