Then Jesus told them,“ You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.

未幾爾不見我、又未幾爾復見我、因我歸於父也、

我臨世為光、使信我者、弗居於暗、

我儕若言己與天主心交、而仍行於暗中、則言誑而不遵真理、若行於光明、如天主處光明然、則彼此心交、而天主之子耶穌基督之血、滌除我之諸罪、

耶穌曰、我尚有片時偕爾、後歸遣我者、

尚有光、當信光、致爾為光之子、耶穌言竟、遂去、避眾而隱、○

爾曹皆為光明之人、為白晝之人、我儕不屬於夜、不屬於暗、是以我儕不可如他人之寢、當警醒謹守、因寢者寢於夜、醉者醉於夜、惟我儕為白晝之人、當謹守、以信與愛為甲衣之、以得救之望為盔戴之、

時尚晝、我當行遣我者之事、夜至、則無人能行矣、我在世、為世之光、

我即主召爾、以彰仁義、援爾手以護爾、使爾為與民立約之中保、為列邦之光、明明原文作啟盲者之目、使被囚者出獄、使居幽暗者得出囹圄、

雅各家乎、我儕同往、行於主光明之中、

彼眾不能信、因以賽亞復云、主使其目瞽心頑、免其目明心悟、悔改而我醫之、

光照於暗、而暗弗識之、○有天主所遣之人、名約翰、彼來作證、即為光作證、使眾因之而信、約翰非其光、特為光作證是為真光、普照凡生於世之人者也、或作是為真光臨世普照萬人者也

是則何也、以色列人所求者未得、惟蒙選者得之、其餘則剛愎其心矣、如經載云、主使其心昏迷、目不見、耳不聞、至於今日、大衛曰、願其筵席成為網羅、機檻、礙石、以為其報、願其目矇而不見、其背屈而不伸、

其心愚頑、至於今日、讀舊約時、其帕尚存未除、此帕惟賴基督可除、

我復將新誡致書以傳爾、在主乃真、在爾亦真、蓋晦暗方過、而真光已照也、人言己處光明、而憎兄弟、此人尚在晦暗、人愛兄弟、則居於光明、不使人躓蹶、惟憎兄弟者、乃居於晦暗、行於晦暗、不知所往、因晦暗矇其目故也、○

願其筵席、在其前變成機檻、為安逸之人、變作網羅、願其目昏不能見、願主使其腰弱無力、願主向彼傾洩主之盛忿、願主之烈怒、臨及其身、願其宅變為荒墟、願其幕無人居處、因主所擊者、彼亦加逼迫、主所傷者、彼反譏誚其苦、願主以罪加於其罪、使其在主前、不得稱義、使其名見抹於生命册、不得與善人同錄、

夜已深、晝已近、當解暗昩之行、衣光明之甲冑、惟端莊以行如在晝日、勿饕餮沈湎、勿色欲邪蕩、勿爭鬥娼嫉、惟衣被主耶穌基督、爾為身慮、勿致縱慾、

故云寢者當醒、由死而起、則基督必光照爾、○慎爾所行、勿效無智者、宜效智者、

惡人之途、猶如幽暗、不自知觸於何物而顛、

故如聖神云、今日爾若聽主之言、則勿剛愎爾心、如昔民之激主怒、即在曠野試主之時、
