Jesus answered,“ The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn’t overtake you. The one who walks in darkness doesn’t know where he’s going.

Then Jesus told them,“ You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.

“ A little while and you will no longer see Me; again a little while and you will see Me.”

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.

Then Jesus spoke to them again:“ I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—

Give glory to the Lord your God before He brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the mountains at dusk. You wait for light, but He brings darkest gloom and makes thick darkness.But if you will not listen, my innermost being will weep in secret because of your pride. My eyes will overflow with tears, for the Lord’s flock has been taken captive.

If anyone walks during the night, he does stumble, because the light is not in him.”

If we say,“ We have fellowship with Him,” yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth.But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Then Jesus said,“ I am only with you for a short time. Then I’m going to the One who sent Me.

While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become sons of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.

For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness.So then, we must not sleep, like the rest, but we must stay awake and be serious.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.But since we belong to the day, we must be serious and put the armor of faith and love on our chests, and put on a helmet of the hope of salvation.

We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

“ I, Yahweh, have called You for a righteous purpose, and I will hold You by Your hand. I will keep You and appoint You to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations,in order to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those sitting in darkness from the prison house.

House of Jacob, come and let us walk in the Lord’s light.

This is why they were unable to believe, because Isaiah also said:He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and be converted, and I would heal them.

That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it.There was a man named John who was sent from God.He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him.He was not the light, but he came to testify about the light.The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,as it is written: God gave them a spirit of insensitivity, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.And David says: Let their feasting become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent continually.

but their minds were closed. For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant, the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ.

Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness until now.The one who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he’s going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Let their table set before them be a snare, and let it be a trap for their allies.Let their eyes grow too dim to see, and let their loins continually shake.Pour out Your rage on them, and let Your burning anger overtake them.Make their fortification desolate; may no one live in their tents.For they persecute the one You struck and talk about the pain of those You wounded.Add guilt to their guilt; do not let them share in Your righteousness.Let them be erased from the book of life and not be recorded with the righteous.

The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near, so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.Let us walk with decency, as in the daylight: not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy.But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires.

for what makes everything clear is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk— not as unwise people but as wise—

But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom; they don’t know what makes them stumble.

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you hear His voice,do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,
