The crowd responded,“ We understood from Scripture that the Messiah would live forever. How can you say the Son of Man will die? Just who is this Son of Man, anyway?”

众人回答他：“我们从律法中听到，基督是永远长存的。你怎么说‘人子必须被举起来’呢？这‘人子’到底是谁？”

眾人回答他：「我們從律法中聽到，基督是永遠長存的。你怎麼說『人子必須被舉起來』呢？這『人子』到底是誰？」

眾曰、我聞律云、基督永存、爾何言人子將見舉乎、此人子誰耶、

眾曰、我聞律法云、基督永存、爾何言人子必見舉、此人子為誰、

眾曰：『吾聞諸律法云：「基督永留、」今汝曰：「人子必須被舉」何也？且所謂人子者、誰耶？』

The crowd spoke up,“ We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this‘ Son of Man’?”

The crowd spoke up.“ The Law tells us that the Messiah will remain forever,” they said.“ So how can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this‘ Son of Man’?”

So the crowd answered him,“ We have heard from the Law that the Christ remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”

Then the crowd replied to him,“ We have heard from the law that the Messiah will remain forever. So how can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

The crowd then answered Him,“ We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

The people answered Him,“ We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

The multitude therefore answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

Then the crowd replied to Him,“ We have heard from the scripture that the Messiah will remain forever. So how can You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

Then the crowd responded,“ We have heard from the law that the Christ will remain forever. How can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

The multitude answered him,“ We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. How do you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up?’ Who is this Son of Man?”

His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

“ My servant David will be their king, and they will have only one shepherd. They will obey my regulations and be careful to keep my decrees.They will live in the land I gave my servant Jacob, the land where their ancestors lived. They and their children and their grandchildren after them will live there forever, generation after generation. And my servant David will be their prince forever.

He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal— it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow:“ You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”

And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.“ For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

May the king’s name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun shines. May all nations be blessed through him and bring him praise.Praise the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does such wonderful things.Praise his glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and amen!

Jesus replied,“ It is written in your own Scriptures that God said to certain leaders of the people,‘ I say, you are gods!’

But Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”

Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.

“ During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever.

He is the one who will build a house— a temple— for my name. And I will secure his royal throne forever.

His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun.It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!” Interlude

Those who are weak will survive as a remnant; those who were exiles will become a strong nation. Then I, the Lord, will rule from Jerusalem as their king forever.”

Then the sovereignty, power, and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be given to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will last forever, and all rulers will serve and obey him.”

“ And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice— the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live.The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life giving power to his Son.And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man.

Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God.

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,“ Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people.

The entire city of Jerusalem was in an uproar as he entered.“ Who is this?” they asked.

Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?”Jesus answered,“ If I want glory for myself, it doesn’t count. But it is my Father who will glorify me. You say,‘ He is our God,’but you don’t even know him. I know him. If I said otherwise, I would be as great a liar as you! But I do know him and obey him.Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.”The people said,“ You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?”Jesus answered,“ I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!”

And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”

“ What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?” They replied,“ He is the son of David.”Jesus responded,“ Then why does David, speaking under the inspiration of the Spirit, call the Messiah‘ my Lord’? For David said,‘ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.’Since David called the Messiah‘ my Lord,’ how can the Messiah be his son?”

May all the godly flourish during his reign. May there be abundant prosperity until the moon is no more.

This fulfills what is written in their Scriptures:‘ They hated me without cause.’
