Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Mary then took a pound of very expensive perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

Then Mary took a pound of fragrant oil— pure and expensive nard— anointed Jesus’ feet, and wiped His feet with her hair. So the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Then Mary took three quarters of a pound of expensive aromatic oil from pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus. She then wiped his feet dry with her hair.( Now the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfumed oil.)

Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed Jesus’s feet and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

Mary would later pour perfume on the Lord. She would also wipe Jesus’ feet with her hair. It was her brother Lazarus who was sick in bed.

Jesus was in Bethany. He was at the table in the home of Simon, who had a skin disease. A woman came with a special sealed jar. It contained very expensive perfume made out of pure nard. She broke the jar open and poured the perfume on Jesus’ head.Some of the people there became angry. They said to one another,“ Why waste this perfume?It could have been sold for more than a year’s pay. The money could have been given to poor people.” So they found fault with the woman.“ Leave her alone,” Jesus said.“ Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.You will always have poor people with you. You can help them any time you want to. But you will not always have me.She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body to prepare me to be buried.What I’m about to tell you is true. What she has done will be told anywhere the good news is preached all over the world. It will be told in memory of her.”

Jesus and his disciples went on their way. Jesus came to a village where a woman named Martha lived. She welcomed him into her home.She had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.

There was a woman in that town who had lived a sinful life. She learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house. So she came there with a special jar of perfume.She stood behind Jesus and cried at his feet. And she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair. She kissed them and poured perfume on them.

Mary reached the place where Jesus was. When she saw him, she fell at his feet. She said,“ Lord, I wish you had been here! Then my brother would not have died.”

You did not put any olive oil on my head. But she has poured this perfume on my feet.

After she said this, she went back home. She called her sister Mary to one side to talk to her.“ The Teacher is here,” Martha said.“ He is asking for you.”

You are like trees whose branches are loaded with pomegranates, fine fruits, henna and nard,with nard and saffron, cane and cinnamon. You are like every kind of incense tree. You have myrrh, aloes and all the finest spices.

“ The king was at his table. My perfume gave off a sweet smell.

The lotion you have on pleases me. Your name is like perfume that is poured out. No wonder the young women love you!
