When the crowd heard the voice, some thought it was thunder, while others declared an angel had spoken to him.

The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.

The crowd there heard the voice. Some said it was thunder. Others said an angel had spoken to Jesus.

So the crowd who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying,“ An angel has spoken to Him!”

The multitude therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it had thundered: others said, An angel hath spoken to him.

for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these.So there was a great uproar. Some of the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees jumped up and began to argue forcefully.“ We see nothing wrong with him,” they shouted.“ Perhaps a spirit or an angel spoke to him.”

Listen carefully to the thunder of God’s voice as it rolls from his mouth.It rolls across the heavens, and his lightning flashes in every direction.Then comes the roaring of the thunder— the tremendous voice of his majesty. He does not restrain it when he speaks.God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power.

And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of mighty ocean waves or the rolling of loud thunder. It was like the sound of many harpists playing together.

Are you as strong as God? Can you thunder with a voice like his?

On the morning of the third day, thunder roared and lightning flashed, and a dense cloud came down on the mountain. There was a long, loud blast from a ram’s horn, and all the people trembled.

Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and roared, and there was an earthquake and a terrible hailstorm.

After all this I saw another angel come down from heaven with great authority, and the earth grew bright with his splendor.He gave a mighty shout:“ Babylon is fallen— that great city is fallen! She has become a home for demons. She is a hideout for every foul spirit, a hideout for every foul vulture and every foul and dreadful animal.

Then the angel filled the incense burner with fire from the altar and threw it down upon the earth; and thunder crashed, lightning flashed, and there was a terrible earthquake.

As I watched, the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals on the scroll. Then I heard one of the four living beings say with a voice like thunder,“ Come!”

When the people heard the thunder and the loud blast of the ram’s horn, and when they saw the flashes of lightning and the smoke billowing from the mountain, they stood at a distance, trembling with fear.

The moving wings of the cherubim sounded like the voice of God Almighty and could be heard even in the outer courtyard.
