He went away a second time and prayed,“ My Father, if this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will must be done.”

They were singing a new song:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels in a circle around the throne, as well as the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand– thousands times thousands–all of whom were singing in a loud voice:“ Worthy is the lamb who was killed to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise!”Then I heard every creature– in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them– singing:“ To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power forever and ever!”And the four living creatures were saying“ Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground and worshiped.

And a voice from heaven said,“ This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight.”

And a voice came from heaven:“ You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

Jesus answered,“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but he was born blind so that the acts of God may be revealed through what happens to him.

He said to me,“ You are my servant, Israel, through whom I will reveal my splendor.”But I thought,“ I have worked in vain; I have expended my energy for absolutely nothing.” But the LORD will vindicate me; my God will reward me.So now the LORD says, the one who formed me from birth to be his servant– he did this to restore Jacob to himself, so that Israel might be gathered to him; and I will be honored in the LORD’s sight, for my God is my source of strength–he says,“ Is it too insignificant a task for you to be my servant, to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and restore the remnant of Israel? I will make you a light to the nations, so you can bring my deliverance to the remote regions of the earth.”This is what the LORD, the protector of Israel, their Holy One, says to the one who is despised and rejected by nations, a servant of rulers:“ Kings will see and rise in respect, princes will bow down, because of the faithful LORD, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.”

When Jesus heard this, he said,“ This sickness will not lead to death, but to God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

Jesus responded,“ Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?”So they took away the stone. Jesus looked upward and said,“ Father, I thank you that you have listened to me.I knew that you always listen to me, but I said this for the sake of the crowd standing around here, that they may believe that you sent me.”When he had said this, he shouted in a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth, and a cloth wrapped around his face. Jesus said to them,“ Unwrap him and let him go.”

But Jesus said to Peter,“ Put your sword back into its sheath! Am I not to drink the cup that the Father has given me?”

When Judas had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away.

Then a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came from the cloud,“ This is my one dear Son. Listen to him!”

He said,“ Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Then a voice came from the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!”

For he received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory:“ This is my dear Son, in whom I am delighted.”

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to him!”

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven,“ You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

The purpose of this enlightenment is that through the church the multifaceted wisdom of God should now be disclosed to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly realms.

to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

to demonstrate in the coming ages the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.For it is right for me to think this about all of you, because I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel all of you became partners in God’s grace together with me.For God is my witness that I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insightso that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ,filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.
