Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip,“ Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.Philip answered Him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”

And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying,“ Send her away, for she cries out after us.”But He answered and said,“ I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”Then she came and worshiped Him, saying,“ Lord, help me!”But He answered and said,“ It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”And she said,“ Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered and said to her,“ O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him,“ Follow Me.”Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.Philip found Nathanael and said to him,“ We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote— Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”And Nathanael said to him,“ Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him,“ Come and see.”Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him,“ Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and to another,‘ Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.”When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed,“ Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said,“ Behold the Lamb of God!”The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them,“ What do you seek?” They said to Him,“ Rabbi”( which is to say, when translated, Teacher),“ where are You staying?”He said to them,“ Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day( now it was about the tenth hour).

Philip said to Him,“ Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”Jesus said to him,“ Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say,‘ show us the Father’?

Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers,and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written:“ For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name.”And again he says:“ Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”And again:“ Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!”And again, Isaiah says:“ There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”

And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory;And in His name Gentiles will trust.”
