坐席的或服事的，到底哪一个更大呢？难道不是坐席的吗？然而我在你们中间，是像服事人的。

看哪，我站在门口敲门。如果有人听见我的声音就开门，我就会进到他那里，而且我与他、他与我，将要一同吃宴席。

有一大群犹太人知道耶稣在那里，就来了。他们不仅是为了耶稣的缘故，也是为了看拉撒路，就是耶稣使他从死人中复活的那个人。于是祭司长们就商议，连拉撒路也要杀掉，

耶稣在伯大尼，在麻风病人西门家里坐席的时候，有一个女人拿着一个玉瓶进来。瓶里盛着极其贵重的纯哪哒香液。她打破玉瓶，把香液浇在耶稣的头上。

他们继续前行，耶稣进了一个村子，有一个名叫玛妲的女人接待他。玛妲有个妹妹，称为玛丽亚，坐在主的脚前听他的话语。玛妲为了很多伺候的事就心里烦乱，上前来说：“主啊，我妹妹丢下我一个人伺候，你不管吗？请叫她来帮我的忙吧。”主回答她，说：“玛妲，玛妲，你为很多事忧虑、烦恼，但是有一件事是需要的，而玛丽亚选择了那美好的一份，是不能从她那里被拿去的。”

主人回来的时候，看见哪些奴仆警醒着，那些奴仆就蒙福了。我确实地告诉你们：主人会束上腰带，请他们坐席，并来伺候他们。

耶稣说了这些话，就大声呼唤：“拉撒路，出来！”那死了的人就出来了；手脚缠着布条，脸上包着头巾。耶稣对他们说：“解开他，让他走！”

利未在自己家里为耶稣预备盛大的宴席，有一大群税吏和其他人与他们一同坐席。

耶稣又对邀请他的人说：“你预备午餐或晚餐的时候，不要叫你的朋友、兄弟、亲戚或富有的邻居，免得他们也回请你，你就得了你的回报了。
