我們是這些事的見證人；上帝賜給順從的人的聖靈也為這些事作見證。」

約翰又作見證說：「我曾看見聖靈彷彿鴿子從天降下，停留在他的身上。

人要傳講你可畏的能力，我也要傳揚你的偉大。他們要將你可記念的大恩傳開，並要高唱你的公義。

看見這事的人作了見證－他的見證是真的，他知道自己所說的是真的－好讓你們也信。

法利賽人對他說：「你是為自己作見證，你的見證不真。」耶穌回答他們，對他們說：「即使我為自己作見證，我的見證還是真的，因為我知道我從哪裏來，到哪裏去。你們卻不知道我從哪裏來，到哪裏去。

「但我要從父那裏差保惠師來，就是從父出來的那真理的靈，他來的時候要為我作見證。你們也要作見證，因為你們從起初就與我同在。」

有一大羣猶太人知道耶穌在那裏，就來了，不但是為耶穌的緣故，也是要看耶穌使他從死人中復活的拉撒路。

我知道你常常聽我，但我說這話是為了周圍站着的眾人，要使他們信是你差了我來的。」

約翰就將上帝的道和耶穌基督的見證，凡自己所看見的，都見證出來。

既然我們領受人的見證，上帝的見證更該領受了，因為上帝的見證是為他兒子作的。信上帝兒子的，就有這見證在他心裏；不信上帝的，就是把上帝當作說謊的，因為不信上帝為他兒子作的見證。這見證就是：上帝賜給我們永生，而這永生是在他兒子裏面的。那有上帝兒子的，就有生命；沒有上帝兒子的，就沒有生命。

於是來看馬利亞的猶太人中，有很多人見了耶穌所做的事，就信了他。但其中也有人去見法利賽人，把耶穌所做的事告訴他們。

我看見了，所以作證：這一位是上帝的兒子。」

那些同馬利亞在家裏安慰她的猶太人，見她急忙起來，出去，就跟着她，以為她要往墳墓那裏去哭。

這是約翰的見證：猶太人從耶路撒冷差祭司和利未人到約翰那裏去問他：「你是誰？」
