我們為這些事作證，神賜給順從的人的聖靈也為這些事作證。”

約翰又作見證說：“我曾看見聖靈，好像鴿子從天上降下來，停留在他的身上。

他們要述說你所行可畏的事的能力，我也要宣揚你的偉大。他們要傳述你可記念、至善的名，也要歌唱你的公義。

那看見這事的人已經作證了，他的見證是真實的，他也知道自己所說的是實在的，使你們也相信。

法利賽人對他說：“你為自己作證，你的見證不是真實的。”耶穌回答：“即使我為自己作證，我的見證還是真實的，因為我知道我從哪裡來，往哪裡去，但你們卻不知道我從哪裡來，往哪裡去。

“我從父那裡要差來給你們的保惠師，就是從父那裡出來的真理的靈，他來到的時候，要為我作見證。你們也要作見證，因為從開始你們就是跟我在一起的。”

有一大群猶太人知道耶穌在那裡，就都來了，然而他們不單是為了耶穌的緣故，也是要看看耶穌使他從死人中復活的拉撒路。

我知道你常常聽我，但我說這話，是為了周圍站著的群眾，叫他們信是你差了我來。”

約翰把神的道，和耶穌基督的見證，凡是自己所看見的，都見證出來了。

我們若接受人的見證，神的見證就更強而有力了，因為這是神為他的兒子作的見證。信神的兒子的，就有這見證在他心裡；不信神的，就是把神當作說謊的，因為他不信神為他兒子所作的見證。這見證就是神已經把永遠的生命賜給我們，這生命是在他兒子裡面的。凡有神兒子的，就有生命；沒有神兒子的，就沒有生命。

有許多到馬利亞那裡去的猶太人，看見了耶穌所作的事，就信了他。但他們中間有些人到法利賽人那裡去，把耶穌所作的事都告訴他們。

我看見了，就作見證說：‘這就是神的兒子。’”

那些在房子裡和馬利亞在一起安慰她的猶太人，見她匆忙地起來出去，就跟著她，以為她要到墳墓那裡去哭。
