“ City of Zion, do not be afraid. See, your king is coming. He is sitting on a donkey’s colt.”( Zechariah 9:9)

「錫安的兒女啊，不要懼怕！看哪，你的王來了；他騎在驢駒上。」

錫安女勿懼、爾王來、乘驢駒也、

如經云、郇之女勿懼、王來兮、乘驢駒、

郇邑、邑原文作女毋懼、爾之王、乘小驢而至、

「西溫女、莫驚惶！伊人來兮、爾之王！爾王安坐驢駒上！」

“ Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”

“ Don’t be afraid, people of Jerusalem. Look, your King is coming, riding on a donkey’s colt.”

“ Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

Fear no more, Daughter Zion. Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

“ Do not be afraid, people of Zion; look, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt!”

“ Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

“ City of Zion, be full of joy! People of Jerusalem, shout! See, your king comes to you. He always does what is right. He has won the victory. He is humble and riding on a donkey. He is sitting on a donkey’s colt.

The Lord has announced a message from one end of the earth to the other. He has said,“ Tell the people of Zion,‘ Look! Your Savior is coming! He is bringing his people back as his reward. He has won the battle over their enemies.’ ”

The time is coming when people will say to Jerusalem,“ Zion, don’t be afraid. Don’t give up.The Lord your God is with you. He is the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you. In his love he will no longer punish you. Instead, he will sing for joy because of you.”

So I will raise my powerful hand to strike down your enemies. Their own slaves will rob them of everything. Then you will know that the Lord who rules over all has sent me.“‘ People of Zion, shout and be glad! I am coming to live among you,’ announces the Lord.‘ At that time many nations will join themselves to me. And they will become my people. I will live among you,’ says the Lord. Then you will know that the Lord who rules over all has sent me to you.

The king asked Ziba,“ Why have you brought all these things?” Ziba answered,“ The donkeys are for the king’s family to ride on. The bread and fruit are for the people to eat. The wine will make those who get tired in the desert feel like new again.”

He said to them,“ Take my officials with you. Have my son Solomon get on my own mule. Take him down to the Gihon spring.

Zion, you are bringing good news to your people. Go up on a high mountain and announce it. Jerusalem, you are bringing good news to them. Shout the message loudly. Shout it out loud. Don’t be afraid. Say to the towns of Judah,“ Your God is coming!”The Lord and King is coming with power. He rules with a powerful arm. He has set his people free. He is bringing them back as his reward. He has won the battle over their enemies.

Say to those whose hearts are afraid,“ Be strong and do not fear. Your God will come. He will pay your enemies back. He will come to save you.”Then the eyes of those who are blind will be opened. The ears of those who can’t hear will be unplugged.

The king must not get large numbers of horses for himself. He must not make the people return to Egypt to get more horses. The Lord has told you,“ You must not go back there again.”

They asked,“ Where is the child who has been born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose. Now we have come to worship him.”When King Herod heard about it, he was very upset. Everyone in Jerusalem was troubled too.So Herod called together all the chief priests of the people. He also called the teachers of the law. He asked them where the Messiah was going to be born.“ In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied.“ This is what the prophet has written. He said,“‘ But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are certainly not the least important among the towns of Judah. A ruler will come out of you. He will rule my people Israel like a shepherd.’ ”( Micah 5:2)

Family of Jacob, you are as weak as a worm. But do not be afraid. People of Israel, there are only a few of you. But do not be afraid. I myself will help you,” announces the Lord. He is the one who sets his people free. He is the Holy One of Israel.
