Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me.For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always.She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.

Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them,“ Loose him, and let him go.”

And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying,“ Why this waste?For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them,“ Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
