這事以後，耶穌周遊加利利，不願在猶太往來，因為猶太人想要殺他。

亞比雅追趕耶羅波安，奪取了他的幾座城，就是伯特利和屬於伯特利的鄉鎮，耶沙拿和屬於耶沙拿的鄉鎮，以法拉音和屬於以法拉音的鄉鎮。

因為沒有人想引人注目，卻在暗處行事的。你既然行這些事，就應該向世人顯明自己。”

耶穌又往約旦河東去，到約翰從前施洗的地方，住在那裡。

主知道法利賽人聽見他收門徒和施洗比約翰更多（其實不是耶穌親自施洗，而是他的門徒施洗），就離開了猶太，再往加利利去。

耶穌對大祭司說：“我向來對世人講話都是公開的，我常常在會堂和聖殿裡，就是在所有猶太人聚集的地方教導人，暗地裡我並沒有講甚麼。

然而，他的弟弟上去過節以後，他也上去過節，不是公開地去，卻是暗中地去。

兩年以後，在以法蓮邊界的巴力‧夏瑣，押沙龍雇了人為他剪羊毛，押沙龍邀請王所有的兒子到那裡去。

但沒有人敢公開講論他，因為怕猶太人。
