斯時、司祭長及民間耆老、方群集於大司祭該法院中

先解至亞納處。亞納者、乃是歲總司祭蓋法之岳父、而蓋法即曩時向猶太人宣告「死一人以活萬民、實計之得」者也。

此言非由己出、實緣渠適為本歲總司祭、故於無意中豫言耶穌之將為民犧牲；

亞納蓋法方司教事；時沙加理子如望在曠野、奉天主諭、

幸毋自欺！苟爾中有自矜其世俗之智巧者、吾願其人棄其智巧而反於愚拙、是則真智巧矣。蓋世之所謂智巧、自天主視之、愚拙莫甚焉。經不云乎：『天主令智者自墮其巧計之中。』

大司祭亞納及蓋法若翰亞力山大與大司祭戚屬咸集、

雖然、吾人所傳之道、在完善之人視之、乃真智慧也；非斯世之智慧、亦非世上王公大人終歸烏有者之智慧。

夫薦紳先生、及法利塞人有信之者乎？惟彼眾庶、昧於律法、其亦可詛也已！』

而今哲人安在哉？經師安在哉？世之辯士又安在哉？此非天主已使世俗之智化為下愚乎？
