Therefore, many of the Jews who came to Mary and saw what he did believed in him.But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.So the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and were saying,“ What are we going to do since this man is doing many signs?If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”One of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them,“ You know nothing at all!You’re not considering that it is to your advantage that one man should die for the people rather than the whole nation perish.”

As he was teaching in the temple, Jesus cried out,“ You know me and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on my own, but the one who sent me is true. You don’t know him;I know him because I am from him, and he sent me.”

During his earthly life, he offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Righteous Father, the world has not known you. However, I have known you, and they have known that you sent me.

“ Now my soul is troubled. What should I say— Father, save me from this hour? But that is why I came to this hour.Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven:“ I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”The crowd standing there heard it and said it was thunder. Others said,“ An angel has spoken to him.”Jesus responded,“ This voice came, not for me, but for you.

God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him.Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

do you say,‘ You are blaspheming’ to the one the Father set apart and sent into the world, because I said: I am the Son of God?If I am not doing my Father’s works, don’t believe me.But if I am doing them and you don’t believe me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in me and I in the Father.”

Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede for them.
