那時，耶穌說：「父啊，天地的主，我感謝你！因為你把這些事向聰明智慧的人隱藏起來，而向嬰孩啟示出來。

坐在天上的主啊，我向你舉目。

父啊，願你榮耀你的名！」於是有聲音從天上來，說：「我已經榮耀了我的名，還要再榮耀。」站在旁邊的眾人聽見，就說：「打雷了。」另有的說：「有天使對他說話。」耶穌回答說：「這聲音不是為我，而是為你們來的。

正當那時，耶穌被聖靈感動而歡喜快樂，說：「父啊，天地的主，我感謝你！因為你把這些事向聰明智慧的人隱藏起來，而向嬰孩啟示出來。父啊，是的，因為你的美意本是如此。

應當一無掛慮，只要凡事藉着禱告、祈求和感謝，將你們所要的告訴神。

那稅吏遠遠地站着，連舉目望天也不敢，只捶着胸，說：『神啊，開恩可憐我這個罪人！』
