那時候，耶穌說：「父啊，天地的主，我讚美你，因為你把這些事向有智慧的和有學問的人隱藏起來，而向小孩子們顯明出來。

在天上坐著為王的那一位啊，我要向你舉目！

父啊，願你榮耀你的名！」這時候，有聲音從天上傳來：「我已經榮耀了我的名，還要再榮耀！」站在那裡的眾人聽見了，就說：「打雷了。」另有人說：「是天使在對他說話。」耶穌就回答說：「這聲音不是為我，而是為你們來的。

那時候，耶穌受了聖靈的感動就快樂，說：「父啊，天地的主，我讚美你，因為你把這些事向有智慧的和有學問的人隱藏起來，而向小孩子們顯明出來。是的，父啊！因為這正是你的美意。」

在任何事上都不要憂慮；然而要在一切事上，藉著禱告和祈求，以感謝的心把你們所求的告訴神。

「那稅吏卻遠遠地站著，甚至不敢舉目望天，可是捶著胸說：『神哪，你寬恕我這個罪人吧！』
