Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.

Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.

But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

‘ What have you here, and whom have you here, That you have hewn a sepulcher here, As he who hews himself a sepulcher on high, Who carves a tomb for himself in a rock?

Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

But He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said,“ Why does this generation seek a sign? Assuredly, I say to you, no sign shall be given to this generation.”

So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.

and the Lord said to him,“ Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”

Then he charged them and said to them:“ I am to be gathered to my people; bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite as a possession for a burial place.There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I buried Leah.

And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre( that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes.
