但是其中有些人說：「這個人既然開了瞎子的眼睛，難道就不能使拉撒路不死嗎？」

其中有人說：「他既然開了瞎子的眼睛，豈不能叫這人不死嗎？」

或曰：『彼曾啟盲者之目矣、獨不能令此人不死乎？』

耶穌說了這些話，就吐唾沫在地上，用唾沫和了一點泥，抹在瞎眼之人的眼睛上，然後對他說：「到西羅亞池去洗一洗。」——「西羅亞」翻譯出來就是「奉差派」。他去洗了，回來就能看見了。

說：「你這個要拆毀聖所、三天內又建起來的人哪，救救你自己吧！你如果是神的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」同樣，祭司長們也與經文士們和長老們一起嘲笑，說：「他救了別人，卻不能救自己！他是以色列的王！現在讓他從十字架上下來吧，這樣我們就信靠他！

民眾站著觀看。首領們也譏笑，說：「他救了別人！如果這個人是神的基督，是蒙揀選的那一位，讓他救自己吧！」

被懸掛的兩個囚犯中，有一個辱罵他說：「你不是基督嗎？救救你自己，也救救我們吧！」

這個基督，以色列的王，現在讓他從十字架上下來吧，好讓我們看了就相信！」與耶穌一起被釘十字架的人也責罵他。

瑪妲對耶穌說：「主啊，如果你早在這裡，我弟弟就不會死了。

瑪麗亞到了耶穌那裡，一看見他，就俯伏在他的腳前，說：「主啊，如果你早在這裡，我弟弟就不會死了。」

他們說反對神的話：「難道神能夠在曠野中擺設筵席嗎？看哪，雖然他曾擊打磐石、使水湧出、溪流漫溢，難道他還能夠賜下糧食嗎？還能為自己的子民預備肉嗎？」
