其中也有人說：「祂既然能醫好瞎眼的人，難道不能叫這個人不死嗎？」

他们中间有人说：“他既然开了瞎子的眼睛，难道不能使这个人不死吗？”

但是其中有些人说：“这个人既然开了瞎子的眼睛，难道就不能使拉撒路不死吗？”

其中有人說：「他既然開了瞎子的眼睛，豈不能叫這人不死嗎？」

其中有人說：「他既然開了盲人的眼睛，難道不能叫這人不死嗎？」

其中有人說：「他既然開了盲人的眼睛，難道不能叫這人不死嗎？」

他們中間有人說：“他既然開了瞎子的眼睛，難道不能使這個人不死嗎？”

其中有人說：『這個人、開了瞎子眼睛的、豈不能叫這人也不死麼？』

但是其中有些人說：「這個人既然開了瞎子的眼睛，難道就不能使拉撒路不死嗎？」

或曰、彼曾啟瞽者之目、不能使斯人不死乎、

有曰、彼明瞽者之目、豈不能使此人不死乎、

有曰、彼曾明瞽者之目、豈不能使此人不死乎、

或曰：『彼曾啟盲者之目矣、獨不能令此人不死乎？』

But some of them said,“ Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”

耶穌講完後，便吐唾沫在地上，用唾沫和泥抹在那盲人的眼睛上，對他說：「到西羅亞池去洗洗！」西羅亞是「奉差遣」的意思。那盲人照著去做，回來的時候已經能看見了。

「你這聲稱把聖殿拆毀又在三天內重建的人啊，救救自己吧！你要是上帝的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」祭司長、律法教師和長老也嘲諷說：「祂救了別人，卻救不了自己！祂要是以色列的王，就從十字架上跳下來吧！我們就信祂。

百姓站著觀看，官長嘲笑耶穌說：「祂救了別人，如果祂是上帝所選立的基督，讓祂救自己吧！」

跟耶穌同釘十字架的一個罪犯也譏笑耶穌，說：「你不是基督嗎？救你自己和我們呀！」

以色列的王基督，現在從十字架上下來吧！讓我們看看，我們就信了！」與祂同釘十字架的強盜也對祂出言不遜。

瑪大對耶穌說：「主啊，你如果早在這裡，我弟弟就不會死了。

瑪麗亞來到耶穌那裡，俯伏在祂腳前說：「主啊，你如果早在這裡，我弟弟就不會死了。」

他們抱怨上帝，說：「難道上帝可以在曠野擺宴席嗎？祂擊打磐石，水就湧出，流淌成河，但祂能賜給我們——祂的子民食物和肉嗎？」
