耶穌又十分感動地來到墳墓前。那墳墓是個洞，洞口堵著一塊大石頭。

「我現在心裡憂傷，說什麼才好呢？求父救我離開這個時刻嗎？然而，我原是為這個時刻來的。

要與喜樂的人同樂，與哀哭的人同哭。

約瑟愛弟之心油然而生，急忙出去找哭的地方。他到自己的房間裡哭了一場。他洗過臉出來，控制著自己的感情，吩咐人擺飯。

耶穌生氣地看著四周這些人，為他們的心剛硬而感到難過。祂對那人說：「把手伸出來！」那人一伸手，手就立刻復原了。

因為我們這位大祭司並非不能體恤我們的軟弱，祂與我們一樣曾經面對各樣的試探，卻從來沒有犯罪。

基督在世為人的時候，曾經聲淚俱下地祈求能救祂脫離死亡的上帝。祂因為敬虔而蒙了應允。基督雖然是上帝的兒子，仍然從所受的苦難中學習了順服。

約瑟再也控制不住自己，於是令所有的隨從都出去。這樣，約瑟跟弟兄們相認時，沒有外人在場。約瑟放聲大哭，埃及人聽見了他的哭聲，法老家也聽到了這個消息。約瑟對他的弟兄們說：「我是約瑟！我的父親還健在嗎？」他的弟兄們嚇得一句話也說不出來。約瑟叫他們走近一點，等他們靠近了，便說：「我是你們賣到埃及的弟弟約瑟！現在，你們不要因為把我賣到這裡而自怨自責。上帝差我先來這裡，是為了保住大家的性命。

耶穌說：「唉，這不信的世代啊！我要跟你們在一起待多久，容忍你們多久呢？把他帶到我這裡吧。」

於是耶穌帶著彼得、雅各和約翰向前走。祂覺得極其難過，非常傷痛，說：「我心裡非常憂傷，幾乎要死，你們留在這裡警醒。」耶穌往前走了不遠，俯伏在地禱告，如果可以，不要讓那時刻臨到祂。

說完這番話，耶穌心裡憂傷，便宣佈說：「我實實在在地告訴你們，你們中間有一個人要出賣我。」
