For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.

In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind.

The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is your life because of righteousness.Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you.

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.

Now this is the will of the one who sent me– that I should not lose one person of every one he has given me, but raise them all up at the last day.For this is the will of my Father– for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Your dead will come back to life; your corpses will rise up. Wake up and shout joyfully, you who live in the ground! For you will grow like plants drenched with the morning dew, and the earth will bring forth its dead spirits.

As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that as the last he will stand upon the earth.And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God,whom I will see for myself, and whom my own eyes will behold, and not another. My heart grows faint within me.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers,nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For the law of the life- giving Spirit in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.

But our citizenship is in heaven– and we also await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.

Jesus said to them,“ I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.

( The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.) This is the first resurrection.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more– or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.”

These all died in faith without receiving the things promised, but they saw them in the distance and welcomed them and acknowledged that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth.For those who speak in such a way make it clear that they are seeking a homeland.In fact, if they had been thinking of the land that they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.But as it is, they aspire to a better land, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

In a little while the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.

For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is dismantled, we have a building from God, a house not built by human hands, that is eternal in the heavens.For in this earthly house we groan, because we desire to put on our heavenly dwelling,if indeed, after we have put on our heavenly house, we will not be found naked.For we groan while we are in this tent, since we are weighed down, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.Therefore we are always full of courage, and we know that as long as we are alive here on earth we are absent from the Lord–for we live by faith, not by sight.Thus we are full of courage and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death,

O sovereign master, your decrees can give men life; may years of life be restored to me. Restore my health and preserve my life.’

You killed the Originator of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this fact we are witnesses!

for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.When Christ( who is your life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him.

This is what we proclaim to you: what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched( concerning the word of life–and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us).

For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself,

I feel torn between the two, because I have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far,

For you are the one who gives and sustains life.

For if, by the transgression of the one man, death reigned through the one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ!Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people.For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous.

And Jesus said to him,“ I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

And the Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” And let the one who hears say:“ Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.

Jesus replied,“ I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are too, and they will be tormented there day and night forever and ever.Then I saw a large white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened– the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death– the lake of fire.If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life– water as clear as crystal– pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.So also it is written,“ The first man, Adam, became a living person”; the last Adam became a life- giving spirit.However, the spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and then the spiritual.The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven.Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust, and like the one from heaven, so too those who are heavenly.And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the man of heaven.Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.Listen, I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen,“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.”“ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Furthermore, those who have fallen asleep in Christ have also perished.

( as it is written,“ I have made you the father of many nations”). He is our father in the presence of God whom he believed– the God who makes the dead alive and summons the things that do not yet exist as though they already do.

Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, then why are they baptized for them?

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruits; then when Christ comes, those who belong to him.Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when he has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power.For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.The last enemy to be eliminated is death.

We do so because we know that the one who raised up Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus and will bring us with you into his presence.
