“ Lord,” Martha said to Jesus,“ I wish you had been here! Then my brother would not have died.

Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.

Then Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if you had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.

Martha then said to Jesus,“ Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

Now Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

Martha therefore said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Then Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if You had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

Therefore Martha said to Jesus,“ Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.

When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said,“ Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

But some of them said,“ Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”

So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him:“ Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and that one,‘ Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said,“ I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.”Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.

She said to Elijah,“ What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?”

When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.“ Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him,“ you will never believe.”The royal official said,“ Sir, come down before my child dies.”

While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said,“ My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”

While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader.“ Your daughter is dead,” he said.“ Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus,“ Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother.Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her.“ Stop wailing,” Jesus said.“ She is not dead but asleep.”They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.But he took her by the hand and said,“ My child, get up!”Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

They spoke against God; they said,“ Can God really spread a table in the wilderness?

Again and again they put God to the test; they vexed the Holy One of Israel.

When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said,“ Don’t cry.”Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said,“ Young man, I say to you, get up!”The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
