Jesus and his disciples went on their way. Jesus came to a village where a woman named Martha lived. She welcomed him into her home.She had a sister named Mary. Don’t you care? Tell her to help me!”“ Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered.“ You are worried and upset about many things.But few things are needed. Really, only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better. And it will not be taken away from her.”

Jesus had not yet entered the village. He was still at the place where Martha had met him.

The believers there had heard we were coming. They traveled as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns to meet us. When Paul saw these people, he thanked God for them and was encouraged by them.

When Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him. As a sign of respect, he fell at Peter’s feet.
